ASTON BARCLAY RECRUITS AND REWARDS NEW ELITE WORKFORCE

Aston Barclay is extending its revolutionary approach to remarketing by further recruitment, senior management development, employee training and a continuation of its successful apprenticeship programme.

The group has a number of roles currently available including vendor account executives, buyer services executives and group auctioneers.

As National Apprenticeship week is just upon us, Aston Barclay is on its eighth generation of apprentice with 12 colleagues now in full time employment who started as apprentices, which is an above industry average 80% retention rate.

Apprentices qualify for life insurance cover and high street shopping vouchers as part of their employment package.

Aston Barclay has been developing its culture following the 2017 MBO with increased engagement with all team members, new benefits packages, individual training programmes and long service recognition. The company has many colleagues who have delivered exceptional service for many years, recently highlighted by two staff at the Westbury auction being recognised for over 35 years’ service each.

Employees stay working for Aston Barclay for a long period of time as it’s a great place to work according to its recent employee survey. Over 77% of responses to the question “are you proud to work for Aston Barclay?” and 71% of responses to “do you consider Aston Barclay an employer of choice?” were rated at seven out of ten or above.

As part of its aim of developing employees into an elite workforce a third group is about to embark on the two-day Special Forces inspired training course delivered by Ollie Ollerton and Jason Fox, who star in the TV programme SAS: Who Dares Wins. The course is designed to put people under pressure and push them beyond their limits, showing barriers to ultimate success are often in their minds.

Julie Chappell, Aston Barclay’s Human Resources Director said: “Aston Barclay is an exciting place to work as we continue to shake up the remarketing industry. We continue to roll out a range of staff benefits, building on the family ethos of our business and recognising the valuable input every member of our team plays. We want to hear from talented individuals who want to work in this dynamic and rewarding workplace and help drive the future,” she added.
