The City Auction Group has taken on Emma Woodward as new business development manager for its site at Rockingham in Northamptonshire.

She joins from Aston Barclay, where she oversaw dealer group relationships. Prior to that Woodward was a manufacturer buyer development executive at British Car Auctions.

Michael Tomalin, managing director of City Auction Group said: “We are excited to welcome Emma to the management team. She brings blue-chip sales experience in remarketing and refurbishment and has the right skill set and experience to develop our current client relationships and bring on new customers.

“Emma will be responsible for helping us to develop and grow the business, so we can meet our ambitious growth targets over the next three years.”

Woodward will be responsible for identifying new sales leads and developing client relationships with franchised dealer groups, car supermarkets and independent motor retailers.

Next January the company is launching a suite of digital remarketing packages and is introducing dual lane auction facilities, which Woodward will promote to new vendors.

“I am delighted to be joining City Auction Group at this dynamic period in the company’s development,” she said.

The Rockingham circuit is set to shut at the start of next year, having been sold to an investor group. Rumoured future uses include vehicle storage and testing. City Auction Group is one of around 50 companies operating from the site. There is no indication that their ability to trade at Rockingham will be impacted by the ownership change.
