Porsche Cars Great Britain has announced that Marcus Eckermann (pictured) will take over as managing director on 15 July. Eckermann, 50, was most recently MD of Porsche Central and Eastern Europe (PCEE), a role he held for 10 years.

He will take over from Alexander Pollich, who has been appointed the new MD of Porsche Deutschland
Stuttgart. Pollich, who only took over Porsche GB sales in January this year, was previously in charge of Porsche Cars Canada for four years.

Pollich will be taking over from Jens Puttfarcken, who will move into the MD role at Porsche China and Porsche Hong Kong from 1 July.

Speaking about his new appointment, Marcus Eckermann said: “I’m very much looking forward to getting started. While I have enjoyed my time at Porsche Central & Eastern Europe immensely, I am excited to be taking up a new challenge and a new position in the UK. I will be working with incredible new cars and joining a highly regarded and committed team of Porsche enthusiasts at Porsche Cars GB, at Porsche Retail Group and the Porsche Centre network who share my passion for sports cars and the determination to exceed expectations.”

Eckermann started at Porsche at 1997 in the central marketing department as an accessories product manager. During his time at PCEE retail performance almost tripled to 6,185 cars in 2017, supported by numerous initiatives to improve performance across the 26 countries within the region.
