MG Motor appoints new network development manager

MG Motor UK has appointed David Allington (pictured) as network development manager.

Allington was most recently business management manager with Fiat Group, responsible for Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Fiat Professional, Abarth and Chrysler Jeep.

 Before that general manager network development with Kia Motors UK and UK business development manager with what was then DainlerChrysler, when it was creating is market area strategy for Mercedes-Benz network.

MT has also appointed Daniel Gregorious as head of sales and marketing , bringing over 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry, having held senior sales, planning and marketing roles at Renault, Chevrolet, Kia Motors and Peugeot.

And Carly Escritt has been appointed to the role of role of PR and Events Manager.

The three starters will be based at MG’s sales and marketing office in Marylebone, London.

Gregorious said: “I’m delighted to welcome Carly and David to the MG team at such an exciting time for our brand.

“The opening of our new offices and showroom in Central London gives MG a focal point from which to showcase the past, present and future of our iconic British brand. We’ve got an excellent range of cars today and the future is very bright.”

In the first half of 2018 MG Motor sold 4,286 cars, a year on year increase of 115%. The carmaker has been growing its network and wants to add 25 outlets over the next year to being its total to about 100.

In April it announced that it had invested £500,000 at in its Longbridge Training Centre and distribution hub.

At the time Gregorious said: “To bring MG closer to our customers we’re looking to add around 25 new dealers in the next twelve months, taking our network to just over 100 sites. We’re working in partnership with our network to grow volumes profitably.”
