Industry veteran Tim Tozer has been appointed as CEO of Alllianz Partners, joining the group on 1 September.

Tozer has worked both sides of the table heading up dealer businesses and carmaker operations at different times.

His most recent position has been group operations director at Vertu Motors, responsible for its Hyundai, Mazda, Peugeot, Toyota, Fiat and Alfa Romeo businesses.

Before that he was chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors and CEO of Opel Ireland, responsible for Vauxhall’s brand and business strategy and sales and profit contributions in GM’s largest European market.

Check out this video of Tozer talling to Motor Trader in 2013 revealing why the UK leads the way in Europe when it comes to retailing.

Tozer was a director at Allianz Partners UK and Ireland (then Mondial Assistance) between 2002 and 2004.

Ida Luka-Lognoné, member of the Allianz Partners board, responsible for its Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa regions, said: “As a proven, successful business leader, Tim will bring additional credibility and focus to the existing strong and ambitious management teams driving our successful UK and Ireland operations.

“This is an exciting time for Tim to be returning. Not only have both markets continued to grow their portfolio of extremely successful products and services spanning roadside assistance, warranty, travel insurance and international medical assistance, they have built a wider portfolio of customer care and retention services that exploit Allianz Partners’ global digital capabilities.

“We look forward to welcoming Tim as Allianz Partners UK and Allianz Partners Ireland continue to develop and deliver innovative, value adding product and service solutions for the assistance and insurance markets.”
